Chairman

Walter Smerling is Managing Director of the Foundation for Art and Culture since 1986 and Chairman of the Board since 2006.

The MKM Museum Küppersmühle for Modern Art is under his leadership as Director since 1999, and since 2002 he is the Artistic Director of the Salzburg Foundation.

Walter Smerling has been lecturing at the Faculty for Cultural Reflection at the University of Witten/Herdecke since the summer semester of 2010. In autumn 2010 he was appointed honorary professor. His seminars focus on the field of "culture and economics".
