July 3 – October 6, 2019 MKM Museum Küppersmühle of Modern Art
Hailed as Germany’s number one jazz musician, Till Brönner has embarked upon an unusual mission, deep into the heart of the Ruhr region. A passionate photographer, he has travelled across the former hub of Germany’s coal and steel industries armed with his camera, and compiled a compelling portrait of the Ruhr metropolis. Above all, the cosmopolitan Brönner was fascinated by the faces of the “Melting Pott”, the industrial architecture and the co-existence of the diverse nationalities and cultures in Germany’s largest conurbation. In what is the musician’s debut solo show in a museum, the Museum Küppersmühle is now unveiling his hitherto unpublished photographs.
