With his art, Adrian Ghenie offers a response on the part of painting to the digital age. He makes use of the inexhaustible pool of images provided by the media and art history, and creates collage-like syntheses. Enigmatic and at times disturbing works emerge, which oscillate between abstraction and figuration and appear as though they were sequences from a (bad) dream.
